3rd gen slide plate assembly

When I tried to disassemble my 1006, I could not push out the slide stop. To cut to the chase, was able to ascertain that the forked end of the assembly was bent as per this thread and was not able to hold the assembly properly and there is too much play in the end that engages the pin in the slide stop.

My question is whether or not it will hurt to shoot it a few more times.before fixing it
