What's with people trying to run up their post counts?

As one who does try to welcome all new members I can assure everyone, that the post count is immaterial.

What is important is that new members are made to feel welcome and that they are now part of this "family".

This forum is very important to me and I want it to be a enjoyable experience for them as well.

I will be the first to say that I am not the smartest, my collection pales compared to others, I do not know all the answers. Hell, I haven't figured out half the questions yet.

I will contribute in every way I can, and it is not running up a count.

I can recall people who showed up on this forum and it was immediately apparent that they knew their stuff. Their post count was at the time low, but I valued their opinion. Post count only indicates that one has talked, not necessarily listened.

I think of this place as being like a campfire and I'm talking with friends. Some have been there longer than me. Some showed up after I arrived. Some talk more, some less. As long as it's civil, it's all good.:)

I didn't have anything to add to this thread, but I just like this pic. (That's me on the right and an ol' huntin' buddy - We were in the wilds of Montana at the time.)

On your right or his right?

I've heard you get some rusty old reloads out of Dick Burg's basement. :D

I assure you, there are no rusty reloads in my basement. There used to be some with "patina", but my youngest son discovered WalMart was out of 9mm ammo. But he knew just where to find a few thousand rounds. All bagged and ready to be fired. The strange thing is once he's fired them, he's really good at sweeping up after himself. He's maybe following in my footsteps, making sure he gets all his, plus everyone elses. Then instead of bringing them back where he found them, he takes them to his brothers house! It means they both get cut out of the will.

And just for the record, thats 2 posts in a row, upping my count quite respectably, thank you very much.

Hey everybody! There's a newbie from Louisiana that just joined! Another chance to run up our post counts!

Well I don't care one way or the other about post counts--seem too much like a pissing uphill contest to me but------

That's one more for me :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

I could not resist.

Oh LOOK That makes 200- how ironic!!!!

Some days its all about the post count:D

This puts me one more closer to 2000, and somebody to a Jinks letter

On your right or his right?

On your right, but your always right, right?

This post count thing is gonna be a long trip, right?

I once thought I was wrong, but turned out I was right!

Now what was it you ask me?

Su Amigo,
Dave

Check out the 44Spl. thread in the 1896-1961 forum, which one should I wear on the right hip for the BBQ? Being right handed and all...

Dog gone Curtis,

While I was AWOL, you blew right past me on post count!!!

I'm gonna have to get on it to stay in sight of ya!

Really, good for you. I always enjoy your posts...

Well this is two for the road,

Thanks everyone and hello to all the new folks stoppin' by.

Su Amigo,
Dave

post count???

I am happy some of us make time to say welcome. If they end up with 9,800 extra posts...I'm proud of their work on behalf of myself and others who may not make time to say howdy and hello.

I hope those and others continue the practice.

Bob
