What's with people trying to run up their post counts?

There's a welcome section? I dont think I have ever been there, Maybe I will swing over there and say HI.

Got it Forester thanks,I like my way a little better. But what ever works. I really don't care about post count. I like it here and learn more than one should be able to learn for free. So I'm reading way more than posting.

Several people have posted 3 or more times in this thread, and their count remains the same. Does your post count for each post or each thread?

Yup, I am. It says so right there.

Wow, I don't remember if I ever noticed that before.

I should go over to the welcome section, haven't been for a while.

I think that it's an old habit. Under the previous owner, having 4000 posts meant you couldn't get kicked off the forum. That exemption was removed some months before he transfered the site to new ownership, but I guess old habits die hard.

I'm going to have to call shenanigans on that one. Mike never said you couldn't be kicked to the curb if you had a bunch of posts. Some folks who used to be members with a bunch of posts just assumed that if you had a bunch you were some how protected. Mike just proved them wrong when they stopped acting like grown men.

What do you think I'm working on....?

I think i heard senior member is after 1000 posts, but I could be wrong

Being the relative new guy here (low post count and all), I'm trying to get caught up on all this seniority stuff and learn how to move to contributor status, Lee has me permanently stuck in the penitentiary, but I have potential..... :)

Give me time....

Yep

Not necessarily! :D

As a rule I know what I am talking about, but on occasion I whip through a thread too fast and post without reading it in its entirety.

I do try to make my informative posts correct, but I admit some are a little off.

My non-informative ones I at least try to make interesting.

But then...some days its all about the post count.

I will have to say that most (including me) do tend to give milestone Karmas. I started with 1500 giving a Karma of a Jinks letter to a lucky winner and plan to keep up the trend.

Keep an eye on the 1896-1961 board cuz I'll be doing another one soon as this makes me one post closer to 2000

Not to worry Caje!
Lee no doubt was referring to me when writing that.
I can't count the number of times I've heard similar over breakfast cereal.
The truly depressing aspect of it is, both Lee and my Wife are right.
No wonder I drink alone?

Well, at least someone read the post. Good call. I thought maybe I should put a smiley in, but when I went to edit, I couldn't find them. What the heck, a lie is as good as the truth if you can get someone to believe it.

See my last post above. Whenever you post, it changes the posts count on all your previous posts to your current total. All your previous posts will have your updated post count if you were to go back and read them.

Never thought much about my post count. Could I win a registered mag if I post more?
