What's your defensive revolver?

The only revolver I use for defensive purposes is in my home office. Its a Ruger Vaquero in .45LC loaded with Speer's 250gr Gold Dots

Most other times around the house I have a M&P40 loaded with 180gr Remington Golden Sabers on my hip in a Tucker Silent Thunder holster. Since I finished up the last range session with the .357 Sig barrel in it that is how it is configured right now...with Winchester Ranger T's in 125gr

Once in a while I will slip my Les Baer .45 into a Silent Thunder holster and carry that around the house. It is loaded with Federal HST 230gr +P (Tucker HF1 holster rig pictured is used for BBQ's only)

The M&P goes to bed with me and I also keep a CD Defense AR15 within reach in the bedroom, it's loaded with Hornady's 75gr TAP T2

What kind of holster are you using for your L-Comp?
I have one that I've been carrying in a DeSantis Belt Scabbard that I'm not too impressed with. Black Hills Leather is making me a rig for it loosely based on an Askins Avenger style holster, can't wait til it's finished.

I also carry my 9x23 360J a lot, most every day. It is my BUG and "carry when the big one doesn't fit" gun.

I have a cheap, but serviceable Uncle Mikes in that "ballistic nylon" stuff or whatever they call it. It actually works well for the L-comp because it molds easily to my side, and it has a thumbreak as well.

I would love to have a quality leather holster made for it, and I will one of these days. I generally carry a Glock, honestly because I shoot semi-auto's better than revolvers, and I am also quite rough on my carry guns, and the L-comp is too nice to bang into equipment all day.

The L-comp is usually carried when I'm out walking because it gives me the option of .357 shot rounds for snakes, I HATE snakes.

Before yesterday, none-Yesterday I traded for a Model 28-2

4", that had been re-blued by the gun shop (cheap!). It's tight as a new gun, looks like it was not shot much. I have an old pancake belt holster for it that works just fine, even still had a couple of speedloaders that work. I'm a happy guy.

I carry a Smith & Wesson 696. Sometimes I wish it had a 4 inch barrel, but I'm not complaining. Maybe one of these days I'll get a second 696 and see about having a custom 4 inch barrel made for it.

As an LEO i carried a 686-1 4" under my jacket with 3 Speed loaders. After retiring i mostly carry a 686-4 2.5 inch with Federal Hydra Shok +P+, and sometimes a 649 also with Federal Hydra Shok +P. Have at least 2 HKS Speed loaders on me. At HD is my 686-1 4" in the nightstand drawer with the 2.5" on top of the nightstand, as well as a Glock 23 not too far away. Pics of the 2.5" & the 649 snubby. Holsters for all are Galco.

Currently, I carry my floater' which is a 642-Pro while my 640 is off being tuned and dressed by Bowen. My new 686 2.5" will be added to the mix next week. Once it's fashioned, I may well call it as the primary. One thing is clear after several swaps. I much prefer all steel vs. alloy.

What revolver do you depend on in a defensive situation? Whether it's concealed carry, open carry, vehicle defense, or home defense. I want to hear from everyone that depends on those trusty wheel guns. Which brands, models, calibers, size, and set up are you using when it counts the most? And if you've got pictures, do post them!

Also, if you carry a semi-auto in place of a revolver feel free to let us know what you've got!

Have at it. ;)

One of my concealables is the S&W 642. Since I'm a nostalgia kind of guy I like the old style grips. Easier to hide, easier to slip out of the hiding place, but a little less pleasant to shoot. Oh, well...it's a "carry a lot and shoot seldom gun anyway.."

When I carry in town it's usually just a model 36 or a 1903 Colt. My nightstand gun is a 5" transitional M&P with Buffalo Bore's FBI load.

In the winter I rotate between a Glock 21 & a Colt Commander...but I always have my Smith & Wesson 442!! All loaded with Cor Bon DPX & Pow'R Ball.

I'm fairly new to concealed carry; having just gotten the permit. My firearm has been in the truck a lot, but only today did I carry one into a local "big box" store and then around running errands.

Gee, nobody noticed...that's a Good Thing, I believe! Well hidden in front pants pocket.

The only revolvers I have are two 547's in 9mm. I only carry one in a shoulder rig in cooler weather. To be honest, I find the stock trigger to be stronger than I like...On the "chopping block" pretty soon.

lately, a well worn original 1957 Colt Det Spl. Original grips feel good and fit me fine. It slips in my Pea Coat pockets, both inside and out, for a comfortable accessible ride.

Keep a FNP 9mm in the truck with three 16 round mags for the heavy work. Home is the Det spl, Star PD 45, and a 20ga Rem 1100, cut on both ends.

If you cut down a 12ga, you need to do some range time with your defense loads. I cut down a win/sears pump for a friend, loaded with hi brass #5 shot and it jumped out completely out of my left hand. When the time came for me to cut down one, I went 20ga ... and practice with it.

My everyday carry gun is a 329PD one extra loader on the belt just in front of the holster, usually another two in the truck. When running a quick errand in sweats, the 296 goes in a pocket with the extra five in another.
A Ruger 44 carbine with a folding stock in my pack when travelling. Sorry my holsters look so beat up, but I can't replace them- they're just getting broken in the way I like!
I'd like to find a round that works in all three but that may be too much to ask. I'm buying a chronograph this week to do some experimentation.
