What's your favorite pistol round?

32 Long and the 22 LR for Bullseye of course. For everything else, hands down for the 357/38. At 25 yards it will stand with the best of them.

10mm for me. Between the .357 and .41 mags as far as ballistics go and in a semi-auto pistol, I've got 15 of them.

9mm. Why? Its because you can get a 9mm in a compact pistol or a large pistol and it still does a great job. The kick isn't bad out of a small gun so you can get back on target much quicker than a handgun in a larger caliber. Its cheap to shoot. AND +p is a hoot.

.22LR, It's cheap, and I love the sound it makes out of a rifle. This may sound a little crazy, but I also love the smell of the burnt powder.

I'm going to have to go with the .38 special. I can load it hot or mild, and it's just easy to shoot. That and my love for the K frame.

.22 LR, the worlds greatest cartridge. Affordable, easy to shoot, fun for young and old, perfect as a learning tool or provides plentiful practice to develop one's skills, accurate in most any decent gun and extremely accurate in the right ones.
For centerfire, it is either 44Mag or 45Colt....and that one is hard to decide!

What he said!!!
I'm taking three libs, who have never shot a gun, out to my range this morning after coffee. I'll bet we burn up 500 .22's. This will be fun.

One of them is a self styled vegetarian who just had to try some elk steak the other night. She cleaned up the platter.

Mickey D;: Slow and heavy. Hey you just described me! No wonder I like .44 specials and .45 colts. You left out old. I am that too!

Slow and Heavy ... and Old as hell. That probably fits most of us here better than it does the .45 Colt. :D

I nominate the gentleman who endorsed the 9x19 for "Bravest Man on the Forum, 2009".

1st Place .22 LR
2nd Place .357 Magnum/10 mm/9mm/.45 ACP/.357 SIG/.38 Spl.
3rd Place uhhh, I don't know, I guess .32 ACP and .380 ACP

Used to like the .45 Colt and .44 magnum, but too much elbow and shoulder trouble to shoot them now that I'm firmly in pre-early middle age.

The Highlander

Pistol 45 ACP, no question about it.
Revolver 44 Magnum, the most versatile, best balanced caliber.

In small bores I shoot more 22lr, but actually like 32 Long better. For larger bores I shoot more 38 Special but like 41 Mag better. However I really like the 32 WCF in a K frame configuration as well. What the heck do you want to ask a question like this for? Fine, the times in my life I've been down to one handgun it has always been a 45 ACP, at least after I turned 21. So if I had to pick one it would be a 45ACp with a 38 Special for back-up.

Semis I shoot more 9mm but enjoy 45ACP ocassionally.
Revolvers I shoot more .38 specials but really like the .357 mag
For a lot of fun, shoot the .22LR

.45 Colt...You can load it up light or hot...smokeless or black powder...lead or jacketed...heavy bullet or light bullet...rifle, carbine or revolver...and big derringers...It's my favorite short cartridge and my gun collection reflects that!
