whats your latest brand new revolver purchase?

642-1 about 3 years ago. If my bride takes a shine to it now that she hasdecided to go armed, I may have to buy another. Before that it was 1984 and a 24-3. All the rest have been test driven by someone else.

Update 07/14 - she did. Now another 642-1 or 442-1 unless I find a well-aged 40 or 42 somewhere first.

My last was a 18-7.A nice gun,but with my downsizing,I thought it could go,as I have a 18-3.I sold it last month.

The only new S&W revolver I have purchased is my 442-1 that I bought as a back-up gun to carry on duty back in 1997 or so. I'm no longer an LEO, but the 442 is my EDC gun in a Desantis Nemesis pocket holster. I've bought and sold quite a few others, but they were pre-owned.

Mine is a 17-6 Old Stock, New In Box I bought late last year, shipped 1989 but sold in 2013:

S&W Model 66 Combat Magnum

Having owned many semi-autos and long guns, this is my first revolver purchase - Model 66 Combat Magnum in 357. Really like the proportions, weight, finish and sights. I really only considered S&W and only wanted 357 as I also have a Marlin 1894 in 357. The 686 is sweet but after seeing a model 66 at the gun show, I knew it was right for me. It was interesting to read the history of this model and I'm glad they "re-released" it. Not easy to find retail, internet or at shows so I took my time and came across this one online.

Have not shot it but plan to tomorrow!

This thread caused me to think about my revolvers. I think, best I can count, I have 29 S&W revolvers and I did not buy any of them new. I have two retired law enforcement guns that were new when they were issued to me, but were surplus when I actually bought them.

I do plan to buy a 640 Pro new IF I can ever actually find one.

Just bought a NIB 637-2. I know, I know, you're all going to bash me because it's a lock model and it's not old, back when the company made quality, but I wanted a light weight summer pocket gun. I've owned many old S&W revolvers, in fact started my LEO career with a 6" Model 10 in the fifties. After making detective it was mostly a Model 36, then a Model 19.

I simply bought it because the price was right ($400 OTD) and because I wanted a lightweight pocket gun for summer. And, because it's a ho-hum Smith I can take it out in the desert and practice speed loading drills. I've got a Model 36 but it's so cherry I'm reluctant to beat it up (perhaps I need counseling).

Technically its not "bought", I recently put this on layaway, pick it up next week.

S&W 66-8 4" Back in March. I haven't fired it yet. Too many pre-owned revolvers to play with. Before that I picked up a new 617-6 4" a little earlier in the month. That i have fired.

Thanks for the thread. It is good to hear what other forum members are buying.

Two in a week

A week ago I bought a Performance Center 642-2 snubby. So far only 50 rnds fired. These airweights have a considerable recoil.:D
Also picked up a very lightly used Model 39 9mm.
