She should start feeling better...
Insulin, depending on type, acts in 1/2 hour to acting over an extended time for 12 hours. The good effect should be apparent quickly. Getting the blood cleared of other products resulting from the insulin may take a few days. The REAL problem is keeping blood sugar balanced the entire time that it is given.
Sigh, now she isnt eating dry. I tried but not a smidgion gone since early yesterday. I gave her some canned food. I emptied the dry stuff back into the container so its not wasted. Her food bowl is empty till I get back about 5 hrs from now. Ill try dry again to see if she eats it?
How long did it take for the insulin to start having an effect on your Coon? I THINK I see a tad of betterment for Shasta--but hard to tell? Also, it seems as if new apartment staff with passkeys--are again entering my apt when im not there--which I believe (and been proven in the past) that's causing her behavior change. Last night-she never even jumped into my lap. Shasta's really edgy. Ive complained to complex management about uninvited staffers coming into my apt when they have no business being in it. Nothing ever comes of it.
