Those could be sales numbers, not manufacturing numbers. In 2019, S&W moved their warehouse and distribution center from Springfield Mass. to Columbia Missouri.
Smith & Wesson is Closing Their Springfield, Mass. Facilities and Moving to Missouri
AFAIK, all current S&W firearms are made in Springfield. I haven’t heard of any plans to move firearms manufacturing. In the past, some of their rifles and shotguns were made in Sweden, Japan and Turkey. None of those panned out too well.
Personally, I’d love to see S&W move completely out of Massachusetts and go to a more gun friendly State, taking their jobs and tax dollars with them.
My take is having firearm manufacturer’s in blue states helps the pro-gun cause. Move all gun business to red states and the “us against them” issue builds greater on both sides. This may embolden people, but that isn’t necessarily a good thing for widespread rights/acceptance.
