Where are the Shield Plus Magazines?

So is Brohey a known (reputable) seller? I've never ordered from him before, just know what I read in the feedback left on GB.

On March 9th I bough a 38 Regulation Police from that same seller. Gun arrived quickly and as advertised. The seller mentions they are in CT and they are not allowed to have the 13 round magazines. They sell lots of magazines if you check their other items.

EDIT: BTW, thanks Spats. It was with your help that I scored two mags! NO ONE has these mags yet, and a 10 round limited state looks like the only way to score a few.

For what it's worth, the 4x13rd mags I ordered from him on Saturday will be delivered today. :)

Being new and simply removed from new gun boxes, they should be factory perfect as long as they weren't just dumped loose into a box to rattle against each other during transport.

Guess I'll find out in a few hours (fingers crossed).

Tomac, no need for concern. I also ordered a couple of the 13 rounders from Brohey on Saturday and they just arrived a few minutes ago. They are absolutely perfect.

Good to know. I don't buy or sell very much on GB, so I always have to rely on their feedback system. But I'm always on the lookout for good deals on mags, so I'll keep them in mind.

My pleasure. I also ordered two, which should arrive today. I don't like paying $50/mag, but I also didn't want to hog something in such short supply.

Yep, mine arrived a little while ago, they were wrapped in bubble wrap and in perfect condition. Yay! :D

Mine arrived yesterday, and I'm very happy. They are in perfect condition and came individually wrapped & packed to prevent banging together in transit. I'm a happy dude.

Profiteers will tell you where the Shield Plus magazines are ...

I've been waiting weeks to purchase one, just one, extra magazine for the Shield Plus I purchased. I'm on the email lists, calling local gun stores, and nothing. Saw the post about them shipping at the end of April. Today I was told when I called gunbroker has them. So what did I find? People attempting to profiteer because they have them and us not. $80+ to bid on them.

Can we please stop doing this? This is disgusting! I'm so sick of people trying to take advantage of limited supplies.

Personally I'm pretty irritated with Smith & Wesson for being so short-sighted and utterly clueless about serving their customers.

You know you're going to release this gun how far in advance?

You know it's going to be immensely popular, and yet you don't have parts support in place to handle even a modest demand, let alone an acute demand that leads to price-gouging and opportunism?

It's been over 2 months since the release and the unavailability of spare mags is inexcusable. That's a basic part you should have an expectation of being able to buy. Good grief, at least have them available for pre-order so you don't have to waste your time hunting where and when they're going to show up.

I'd like to take my Plus to some classes at my range, but I'm not going to risk trashing my only two mags dropping them on a concrete floor when there's no reasonable method available to replace them.

If they're going to release a gun, they should have a warehouse full of parts at the same time to support that release. That's just common sense and good business, something S & W apparently lacks. I won't be making this mistake again.

It's probably no consolation, but many of us waited weeks to purchase spare mags, myself included. I'm also on the email lists, calling LGSs, etc. The only ones who bought Shield Pluses and weren't waiting were ones who didn't want spare mags.

Well, there is one solution ... buy two Shield Plus pistols and keep one in the safe. That way you get two each of the mags. Then when mags finally become available, buy some.

Hmm, could this be Smith's evil plan? Bwah, hah, hah, hah

But keep in mind that purchasing two or more guns in a week sends your paperwork to AFT (as Bite'm calls them). So the local stores in TX tell me. Else, if you have carry license, your paperwork stays in their store.

Just got off the phone with Smith customer service. I asked if they had any idea when mags would become available. The girl said they had no idea and try back in a week or two.

Then I asked if they had them in the supply chain at all or are we looking at something like six months before they become available. She said "We hope its not six months."

I am assuming Mec Gar makes these mags which would explain why they have no idea when they are getting them. Walther PDP and Canik owners are in the same boat. Mags for both guns are impossible to find because Mec Gar is the OEM and they have been hammered with Covid shut downs.

Wow, $160

I never use the 10 round. Guess I sold mine too cheap after I grabbed 4 extra 13's. Love this gun. Happy shooting everyone!

That's absolutely ridiculous. It's these same kinds of price gouging *******s that have 9mm ammo at >$.50 / round.

I'm seeing the 13-round mag being listed on individual dealer websites, some big box stores, but they're always out of stock. Most of the prices are upper-30's. Wonder if they're just placeholder listings?

I don't have a CCL yet, do people regularly carry more than 1 spare mag and really really want that extra extended mag? Or is the crazy price more about the pandemic buying panic?

When they have it, my local range is charging about $19 for 9mm Magtech or S&B, $22 for .380 Magtech, and $5 for .22lr Aguila or Armscor ($8 for Norma). Big box sporting goods stores around here sell about 10% less, small shops around 15-20% more. I only started shooting last year, are these good pandemic prices?

I've only bought a couple times off Gun Broker, set myself an arbitrary limit of 33% above local range price, shipping included. I get outbid 99.9% of the time. Hope I'm not contributing to the price gouging.

Yes, I think most of those mags that you're seeing are placeholder listings. I got my Shield Plus around the beginning of April and haven't seen any mags anywhere but GB in stock.

As for extra mags, I won't speak for anyone else, but I have consistently carried a Shield and 2 spare extended mags for going on 5 years now. I did that with my 1.0 and am doing it with my Plus. The extended magazine just fits my hand worlds better than the short mag. And truth be told, having extra rounds doesn't hurt my feelings, either.
