How was COP derived from police officer?, etc.![]()
You know, I never understood why people don't like that movie.
You got two friends. A and B. They move into the valley and start ranching. The A ranch and the B ranch. A town grows up. A third rancher, C, moves in. His ranch is not as big or as prosperous as A or B.
A has a son. Now that A is old, the son runs the ranch. B has a daughter, back East at school, but now that B is old, the daughter is coming back home to take care of Dad.
A is being rustled. All the clues point to B as the rustler. B is being rustled. All the signs point to A as the rustler. A and B now distrust each other, and are no longer friends.
C is the rustler. He's cleverly leaving signs and clues so that A and B think that each other are crooks. C figgers it will eventually come to a shootin' war, and when the dust settles he will own ALL THREE ranches.
And last but certainly not least, A's son meets B's daughter and they fall in love.
This is classic western melodrama, folks. How can anyone NOT love it?
I'm curious about some of the ones that have been around for years.............not all the computer related/derived stuff. For example, I've been told:
1) TIP........to insure promptness

I head that Cops came from Coppers, which came from the copper buttons on the uniform.
They may not be waiting on anybody, but they'll be back. To move into your basement where they make up abbreviations.
