Where is the one place you feel most at peace?

I am always at peace in the high timber areas. Man has created no cathedral to God more grand.

Sir, your right on about this.

I love walking or hiking in the high country. I'm very lucky as every morning I wake up and look out at 2 14,000 foot mountains. There is nothing more peaceful and wonderful than a nice walk up in the mountains.

This summer I walked probably 5 miles or so from the road up a mountain creek and found a place that looked every bit like a cathedral except it was made out of solid rock. It was one the most beautiful places I've ever seen in the mountains and I've been in the mountains all my life.

Its changed for me through the years. Somehow I always felt more at peace and happy always rideing a motorcycle, flying or even just driveing in remote areas. At this stage of my life its rideing our quad, but not so much in this weather! We live in southwest utah and its known as haveing some of the nicest atv trails in the world. From this

Great story about the swing, thanks for sharing.
My most peaceful, at home kind of place, is out in the woods somewhere, waiting for first light. After that, behind the wheel on
the open road, with little or no traffic. TACC1

The place of peace for me is anywhere around the neighborhood I grew up or the high school I attended. There are none left in the old neighborhood that I knew back more than 50 yrs ago. Most of those my age have either died off or moved elsewhere.

My last living teacher in school passed away last year.

However it is not the neighbors or the teachers, it is the memory of a better time in my life and the life of the nation. It is the things that one thinks about while walking the block or standing in the parking lot thinking of the things we enjoyed back then that cannot be done now.

going up to our cabin in the woods, as soon as i turn off the hard top and head up the hill everything goes away. thats my happy place!!

Now, it has to be out on the river, in good weather, without a cell phone. But I still remember the most peaceful and safe feeling I ever felt was, as a toddler, sitting on gramp's lap, smelling his pipe, and listening to his stories.

The best stress reliever I got is my Harley Davidson Electra Glide. When my wife and I are cruising down the highway it is the closest to heaven I'll ever get. It's been that way for 39 years. Ride safe.

Out in the high desert sagebrush with the mountains off on the horizon, the Jeep in defilade, a good rifle nearby and good pistol nearer. A couple of cold Michelob Ultras available--but Miller High Life will do. (When the shooting is done.)

Not quite everything I wanted at age 17 but closer than most get.

Thanks, God.

Sitting with my feet up on the veranda of the century-old Copper Queen Hotel in Bisbee, Arizona - quaffing an ice-cold brew or a Margarita (on the rocks, please, no salt)! These pics were taken almost exactly two years ago. Great place to watch the rest of the world go by...
