Where to buy once fired .357 brass?

Not sure what kind of quantity you are looking for. Check out ammo brass trader forums or usedbrass.com

You will probably have trouble finding once fired 357, it's one of those calibers everyone wants. Check Gunbroker. When you're looking watch for the "range brass" description. Most of that is once fired and usually very good. You've got the right idea, I never use new brass if I can help it but sometimes, especially these days, there's no way out!

If you decide to go with new brass, I just ordered 500 .357 Magnum from Starline. They sell to the public at a price that is 10% below most catalog reloading suppliers. I paid $65.00/500 which included shipping.

When I have to buy new brass, I never pay full price for it!

I go to my local indoor range and ask to buy a bucket of their range brass. While I am not looking for 357mag, most of the time what I want is in that 5 gallon bucket. I have a ton of stuff I am going to get rid of come spring.

I have bought new brass off Gunbroker though. I got a bunch of 44mag Remington primed brass pretty cheap about a year ago. Someone must have bought someone else out and had it at a good price. If you can be patient you might find a deal like that too.

Do you have any indoor ranges in your area you can check?

I have to agree that buying used brass is not the way to go. Unless you verify the history of the brass you don't know what or many loads have gone thru the brass.

I have bought used but from individuals that shot the factory loads then didn't have any use for the brass.

I have reloaded individual brass casings many, many times over and over again. I used to catalogue how many times a particular batch of brass was reloaded. I gave up on trying to keep track years ago. I scrounge range brass as well as buy new brass when I need it. Just visually inspect cases before you load them. If there are no cracks, the brass should be fine.

I just ordered 1000 new Starline .357 cases for $116.00 After checking all the other places like Midway, and Cabela's, going to Starline directly was the way to go pricewise. If you buy new brass, you will get a lot of reloads out of each case with normal loading.

Question for Smith Crazy - Skip do you want to sell any of that .357 once fired brass of yours?

I had also went right to Starline to get some .357 brass. After a 2 week wait (I wasn't in a hurry) they came in. I was impressed with the price that included shipping.

I've been picking up range brass for years. I still do. If you are thinking about loading TOP END power loads...new or verifyable one-fired seems prudent.

For the rest of your needs...range brass is just fine IMHO.

I've never purchased any brass in the following calibers: .380, .38 Special, .357 Magnum, 9mm, 40 S&W, .45 ACP...
Tens of thousands of rounds fired.

I have purchased: .32 S&W, .38 S&W, .357 Max, .41 Mag, .44 Special, (a vast majority of) my .44 Magnum and .45 Colt, .45 AR

I pick up what is a available and buy what I can't.

I'd suggest (as others have) go by several ranges.

BD,
Welcome to the forum. This is the best section on the whole board, at least in my opinion!

At this time, I am keeping all of the brass I get except some 9mm and 223. I have an over abundance of 9mm as that seems to be the "caliber of choice". 40S&W comes in a close second with 45ACP next. The revolver cases are less frequent with 38spl being the main course there. If there are any 357mag in there, they are minimal. It takes several bucket fulls to get enough to part with.

I did get some 32S&W cases here a while back though. Not many, but they were kind of cool to find.

I've bought thousands of rounds of brass from the local indoor range. Never had a problem, but I do throw the Amerc away.

If I were loading magnum loads with jacketed bullets I'd use new brass, but I'm just shooting light loads with cast bullets.
