Wondering if anyone can help me out? I have a 34-1 and I'd like to turn it into a 35-1. It has a factory mis-stamp of a 4 over a 5. Also, the 35 has a longer barrel that is more desirable here in Canada (because a 4" is an evil baby killer, but 4.2" is completely harmless, lol). Where should I start looking for a barrel?

You have your work cut out for you.
If bought from the U.S. you will have to legally import it which requires special paperwork and the services of a business that specializes in this. I did a Colt conversion unit last spring and used Prophet River Firearms. If you go on their website they have a importing section and lots of information. All in all I found it a pain in the a** and was expensive. Just my .2 cents. Good luck with your quest.

EBAY IS FLUSH WITH BARRELS RIGHT NOW> Many are from police department buy backs, turn ins and confiscated. Many of the dealers even know the serial number which the gun came from. The Police Depts cut the frames and trade the parts to FFLs for ammo etc. Then some partner loads the parts on eBay. Also a lot of gunsmith estate sales going on as well through ebay. People buy the stuff for a song and dump on ebay. Some NOS (NEW) barrels. Problem is people cant read a tape measure (barrel length) or package the stuff worth a **** (damaged by shipping). So there is that risk. But some of it may only have one bid and it is worth the risk.

I just purchased a Model 66 2.5" barrel and cylinder from serial number ANS1383 1985-86ish
