Where to find old style cylinder stop spring for Model 17?

My Model 17-1 has a slightly kinked cylinder stop spring, which hasn't yet created an issue for me. However, I'd like to have a spare on hand, since old-style parts are not always easy to find. Any ideas on where to get one?

I have a 4-screw gun, and I'd like a spare spring for the one residing in the slot in the trigger guard that provides pressure to the pin which pushes the cylinder stop up.

I'll try the local hardware store to see if they have a spring of similar size.

My guess is that the stop springs for your gun and a new one would be the same, when Smith goes back to work you can call customer service and get some or Midway should have them also. Otherwise try Numrich Arms Corp, they have a lot of the internals.

Thanks, John.

After posting above, I found exactly what you linked to, and I ordered one spring and one plunger. If they work correctly, then I might order a few spare parts. Nice to have, particularly since I'm interested in getting an old Model 10 or M&P.
