Which ammunition do you recommend for the 15-22?

I have a small supply of these...

CCI Mini-Mag 40g CPRN
CCI Tactical
Winchester M-22

Hope to find out how well these work after Christmas.

at least 5500 rounds of federal bulk 550 and only 2 fail to fire, 0 fail to feed and 0 fail to eject.

just wanted to chime in...ive had the best results so far with federal target match ammo.... been trying a new ammo resently with decent results ..its called centurion ...from DKG trading..never heard of it but figured i give it a shot...its a 38 grain 1280 fps round

I know the manual says not to shoot the Remington Golden Bullets, but I had one of their buckets that I shoot out of my CZ542, and surprisingly, they feed more reliably than the Winchester and Federal bulk that I have tried out of my 15-22. I have shoot probably about 400 rounds of it through it now, and probably about 2,000 rounds of the Winchester Bulk and 500 of the Federal Bulk.

The best ammo for any particular 15-22 is whatever shoots best in that rifle!

Try several to find out which one that is. It's really that simple!

The one's recommended in the manual work perfect in my 15-22... and since new (last 60 days), my 15-22 has never had an issue (knock on wood).

I prefer the copper jacketed versions/brands to reduce "lead fouling" and make cleaning easier (due to the high volume shooting I do - whole reason I bought my 15-22 - cheap and fun to shoot).

From what I have read, stay away from "sub-sonic" and low velocity ammo due to not having enough energy to cycle the action consistently.

I have great luck with:

CCI
Federal
Aguila

Good luck and enjoy,

Just a minor correction ...

There is no "jacketed" .22 LR ammo. There is ammo with copper-washed or copper plated bullets. This is not the same as jacketed. :)

My fiancee just bought me some ammo. CCI tactical .22, and Winchester Super X (small game..she tried), just going to use the small game for plinking..

First 200 rounds of my rifle were CCI mini mags, being new to the rifle I am sure I did not load the magazines correctly and had a few FTF.

After my 200 CCI, followed roughly 1,500 Federal 550 rounds (walmart red box). Had very very limited (talking like 6 or less) FTF's.

After the 1,500 FEDS were 25rounds of Winchester 555 (guy at the range asked me to fire in my rifle since his 15-22 did not feed very well)..Those 25rounds worked fine for me.

Most part Federal gets the "plinking" job done for me, but it doesn't hurt to venture out and try new ammo. Test drive!

Going to try out these Super X, AR Tact .22 over the weekend. After I run through these bricks, going to try out more different ammo

Fed 550 round bulk pack A++ for the money.

Im not much of a negative person but stay away from Remington Golden Bullet, absolutley the most horrible ammo I have ever shot.
