You've done it now. Go suck on a lemon... you have to get that Cheshire-cat grin off your face! Who in their right mind would want a 625MG in .45 Colt??
I sold my Ruger .45 convertible BH just over seven years back to help pay for a new 625-7 MG - like yours - $519 new then. I went back to the pusher's - and saw an empty spot where the MG had been for a year or so. Saddened, I paid for a Gulf Shores Labor Day vacation for my wife. The first night down there, she wanted a blanket. As I retrieved one from the closet's top shelf, a blue plastic S&W box slid off, hitting me in my head - but I caught it. My wife had bought that MG - my first S&W!
When I found another .45 Colt MG, a LN 625-6, I jumped at a swap - and the end days of my Ruger .454 SRH and .45 RH were here. I love the MGs - I bought a 625-8 4" .45 ACP before that month was up some seven years back - and I had a 629 MG shortly thereafter, as well. But - my purchases were slowed when I went home and counted the .45 Colt empties my Rugers and that MG had created. Over 2,700! I ordered, sight unseen, a Dillon 550B - just for .45 Colts - right! Before '02 was over, I was making .44 Russian, Special, & Magnums; .45 ACP & AR; .45 Schofield and Colt; and wimpy .454 Casulls. The next year I added .38 & wimpy .357Ms - I never even shot such a caliber, much less owned them. Then - .32 S&WL & H&RM - then 1895 Nagant (7.62x38r). Be forewarned - reloading is a hobby in and unto itself.
I had great results with Georgia Arms .45 Colt ammo - nice new Starline brass. They also load the higher velocity 200gr Speer Gold Dots in .45 Colt - I've chrono-ed them at 1,123 fps SD +/-8 fps from my 625-7 MG. Worth the wait. Congrats and welcome to the insanity!
