I'm just wondering what holsters you guys use for a M&P 9? I'm brand new to handguns so any info is appreciated.

I just received a holster from Tommy Theis @ Theisholsters.com and I can say it is one of the Best holster i have ever had, The fit and finish of this thing is amazing, Have not had the chance to wear it yet but the leather is so smooth and soft i don't think it will take long to break it in...

High Noon Holsters, Gun Holsters and Concealment Holsters

I have been using their holsters, belts and mag carriers for over 15 years now. I carry service size pistols for business. A good, double thick, reinforced gun belt is as important as the holster. Through out the years I have found that horse hide is my choice in leather. For IWB I use either High Noon's Down Under or Public Secret, both with belt clip. For OWB it is the Slide Guard. Bill

Most guns that I carry have two holsters:

* A PJ Holsters IWB - these work well here in IL where we have a lot of GFZs. I prefer removing the holstered weapon rather than unholstering.

* A Safariland 6378 for more secure OWB under a cover garment. For CCW it prints more than a pancake, but it has much better retention. For OC (like range or classes) it's ideal. I usually use the belt loop instead of the paddle, it comes with both. Also, the ones I use on my training belt have the added 6006 ALS guard for extra security.

I personally like paddle holsters, for full-size guns. Easy on, easy off. IWB carrying them doesn't work for me. Too uncomfortable. I like Galco Matrix or Fobus paddle holsters. Affordable and durable.

I use a DeSantis Intruder. The same holster fits the FS 9, the 45 and the 45c. For the Shield I use a Desantis Pocket-Tuk. Just because it's tuckable doesn't mean you have to...I like it because it's comfortable.

For belt wear I use Desantis thumb-break belt slide holsters for the same guns.

By the way if you take a liking to DeSantis holsters here's a tip...get the part number off the DeSantis website, then buy the holster from Cheaper Than Dirt...they're way cheaper than Desantis...

For all day wear I carry strong side IWB using a hybrid holster with dual clips - non-metal clips - for my MP compacts.

If I am just popping out to the store then I use either a single clip all-kydex IWB holster or a Sticky/Remora holster.

Prefer the single clip all-kydex holster with an over the belt clip for those GFZ moments, so I can easily remove and reinsert the gun and the holster as a whole unit in to my waistband while sometimes seated in my vehicle.

This is my concealed carry holster and it is by far the most comfortable one I have ever used.

MaxTuck IWB Holster - Natural Tan Horsehide

I have a few different kydex holsters for different guns for outside the waistband holsters. My experience there seem to show that they all work well, pick your own poison.

For IWB I use the Crossbreed Supertuck. For appendix carry I use the Haley Strategic Partners "Incog." Both are great holsters.

I got an aliengearholsters.com holster about 4 months ago that I cannot say anything bad about. The price is great also. Made in America like all or most of the above. But I can still appreciate that.

I carry my 9c in an Aliengear holster and also have one for the Sigma. Great holsters.

Take a look at Wild Bills Concealment Holsters. There paddle holster are great and for a heavy compact gun they will change the paddle out for a large one that helps the gun from feeling top heavy.

You must identify your intended use for the gun. If it is concealment then an IWB holster such as this might be very good for you: Blade-Tech Nano IWB Holster | Blade Tech | Holsters

If you want to carry on the belt:
Revolution Holster | Blade Tech | Holsters

In selecting a holster, you should consider safety first. The holster should properly encase the trigger guard area to prevent unplanned discharge. Good makers also know how to design a holster that will carry the gun tight to the body and have good retention. Blade Tech brand fits the bill.

getting ready to order an Exodus Gunleather holster, belt, and double mag pouch in cape buffalo pretty quick for my .40 FS. I will post up pics once I get it, but I think it will be awesome. I always prefer leather over the other stuff...
