which new j frames have no internal lock?

Lipsey's Wholesale Firearms Distributor has several models of the airweights with no ILS. You can search their sight for models without the lock. Then have your gun shop order for you. They are mostly J frame 642's and some of the .357 airweights.

642-442 pro, cut for moon clips , and I just ordered a 442 #150544 that is no lock, and is not cut for moon clips (not currently listed in catalog, but is available)

Does anyone know if the 3" m63 .22lr (which is supposed to start production this month) will have the IL (infernal lock)?

I don't know that it will or won't have the lock, but I'll bet that it does. I don't think there is any trending going on away from it.

I've seen 642 and 442 w/o locks.

Download a copy of the S&W catalog from their Web site and check out the Pro series of revolvers. I think there are four listed.

Forum member Rightwire has indicated that at least one distributor has several other J-frame models listed that will soon be available without the lock.
