The title says it all. I want to freshen up my new-to-me 5903SSV with some Wolff springs, but am unsure which recoil spring to order. I would assume it would be the same as the standard 3913 (not the NL or LS).

I think you are correct.

With the short slide, I would expect the spring for the 3913/6906 slide pistols.

Although Bill is correct, the S&W parts list indicates the same part number for the full size 5903/6 spring, I am dubious.

I would think the full length spring would coil bind in the short slide.

I had been wanting a 5903 SSV for years. I finally bought a really nice one off a gun bidding site 3-4 months ago. I always keep extra factory recoil springs for all my carry pistols. So when the 5903 SSV arrived I already had a new spring for my 3913. I think I asked the same question to the guys here and they said it's the same spring and they were correct. The recoil spring in the SSV was probably original and was a little shorter and weaker than the new 3913 spring. I installed the new spring plus my SSV came with a factory magazine and i replaced the spring in it as well. I'm probably at the 300 to 350 round mark at this point and it's been flawless. It's replaced my 3913 in in a lot of situations.
