Which trigger for 15 Sport?

If you aren't doing any target/precision shooting all you really need is the ALG (QMS) trigger. For $46 you will get a clean, crisp, 6.5 to 7 lb trigger.

I found a Geiselle SSA on sale for $168.00 at primaryarms.com last Christmas. I installed it in place of the ALG trigger. The Geiselle SSA is so much better than the factory trigger... They are definitely worth the money.

I went with an SSA for my first AR after shooting 500+ rounds with everything stock. I absolutely LOVE the SSA trigger.

I spoiled myself now. Probably the only trigger I'll ever use.

"pdblue" - Congratulations! I hope you're satisfied as it always boils down to preference.

"blueridgeman" - sounds completely reasonable

"ChattanoogaPhil" - what you present makes perfect sense & is absolutely correct. My last word on it is that JP's work - all the rationale aside - period...& not just my opinion. Those who use them shoot lots & lots! Must be alchemy!

Thank you all very much for your opinions. I decided that for me and my wants I would be best served by a CMC 3 1/2 lb flat trigger. It fits my needs and I like it.

That's the same drop-in TG I put in my 15/22 and my T.

My digital trigger pull gauge sez mine break @ 2.9 lbs.

Both are the flat trigger.

I likey lots.

Casual shooter here. After looking around I decided to go with the the RRA trigger.

The RRA site has them on sale for $62 now. They don't tell you what shipping is at the time of purchase or include a receipt but I checked my CC bill and the total was $71 so that means shipping was $9.

Ordered Sunday and received Saturday via USPS.

There's a YouTube out there on how to install it. Easy peasy.

Which RRA trigger? I'm curious about the two stage varmint 3.5lb trigger

Really liking the Ruger Elite 452 two stage trigger. Claims to be 4.5#, but all of mine average 3.5# after installed over a ten pull test average.

I run a Rock River Arms 2-Stage Varmint trigger in my rifle. It's a nice 2-stage that doesn't break the bank. I bought mine for around $85. Otherwise if you're happy with a single stage combat trigger, check out the ALG defense Advanced Combat Trigger.

The ALG one, buy directly from ALG. The RRA trigger, shop around. You can find them for less than the $120 listed on the RRA website.

Regarding the RRA match trigger, what is the consensus on this trigger? It says 4.5 to 5.0 lbs. I've installed the Ruger Elite 452 in three of my rifles and really like it, it says 4.5 lbs, but all mine register 3.5 lbs. (which I like, regardless of if my gauge is inaccurate...) I'm asking as the above link, direct form RRA, this trigger is selling for 62.00.

Now from another link RRA Rock River Arms National Match Trigger AR0093NMK - Hawkphin Tactical, it says the pins are .1555, not .154, says they are a little snug to go in, but fit. Just wondering what not use the original .154 pins?

Anyone with this trigger, have you compared to the Elite 452 or checked the actual pull weight on this trigger? I like the 62.00 price and have two rifles I'd like to install it in, but I want my triggers to be very comparable between my rifles. Any input would be appreciated.

The bummer about ordering direct from RRA is they won't give you a shipping quote, they just bill it at time of shipping, so have no idea if they gouge on shipping or not.

Been lucky I guess!

Man I never realized that I had been lucky as have dozens of my friends that have replaced factory springs with the JP springs and have had no problems at all. In addition to that I have installed them in several AR's for other people as well as installing the JP triggers , springs nd their speed hammer. Anyway I have found that they work well for all of us.

Not to come across as a snob or a know it all but I don't know anyone that just slaps their springs in without doing some minor polishing as well. I clean the trigger area out well and look for small burrs. I make sure the pins and the holes they go thru in the trigger and hammer are clean and do not bind. I use a moly based grease to put the trigger back together.

Look My rifle is a M&P OR and several years ago I bought it with a $450 EO Tech on it for $1000. To me as long as I got the trigger that I wanted in my rifle to spend $20 rather than $200.

One other thing I do was actually prompted by the JP Speed Hammers. The claim is that even though they are light they hit as hard due to the increased speed. On my rifles I cut the long hook off of the hammer. There is a reduction in lock time that reduces my groups.

I or my friends have ever had any problem with the primers on mil spec ammunition. In fact I load with they CCI 41's when they can be found in our area. I do remember one guy that I installed asked me to put the original hammer spring back in his rifle because he bought a no name upper in 7.62x39 and were shooting wolf steel cased ammo!

By the way I am a x bench rest competitor that now shoots for enjoyment and load development. The trigger on my M&P is right at 4 pounds and the rifle shoots amazingly! However if I were younger and shooting competition again I might spring for a better trigger!

I'll probably eventually try some of those JP springs. I'm leaning towards the preference of the 2 stage feel for me.

As far as the RRA trigger, I decided on the RRA 2 stage NM Varmint, rated at 3.5-4lbs. Found a sight selling them for 76.90.

Anyone have long term experience with the RRAs? Some complain they wear down quickly. Might just be Geissle snob slander for all I know.

I'm liking the reviews on the CMC flat trigger. Is it true that the Magpul BAD lever will not work with it? Anyone using one?

Went with the Timney 661-S drop in, totally satisfied with performance and ease of installation.Well worth the money to me.Not to mention it looks as good as it works.

I ended up going with the ELF Match. Tons of great features and reviews. Can't wait to drop it in!
