I would venture that the hateful language hurt worse and longer than the actual beating.
My dad whipped me with a belt when I was growing up. I deserved it.
He always made me sit in a closed room for an hour, then came in and explained what I did wrong and asked me if I understood why I was being disciplined.
He never raised his voice, used foul language, or degraded me verbally.
I look back now and realize that after the sting wore off, I probably loved him more after he whipped me than before.
He always used to say that it hurt him more than it hurt me. Sounded stupid then----but now that I have a kid, I truly understand.
I would like the judge to go a couple of rounds with someone his own size.
