So I'm in Sportsman's Warehouse yesterday, when I notice this big yellow metal drum. It's 7000 rounds of 7.62 tracer ammo for $6500.00! Almost as shocking: it was the first delivery day in weeks that began to look like the ammo run may be subsiding, at least a little.

I bet it doesn't last a week. Someone with a tax refund will be in looking to stock up. I would if I had the $ to spend.

Bet it would look cool coming out of a Mini-Gun , but other than that , , ?

There's been a bunch of late 60s - early 70s (-Nam surplus?) 5.56 tracers on the market lately.

Most ranges don't allow tracers due to fire starting hazards.

Could always pull the projectiles and seat regular bullets.

Wow! Seven thousand phosphorus-coated rounds is gonna do wonders for your barrel. ;)

In any tracers I've seen, the phosphorus is on the inside of the bullet, not the outide. However once I bought 100 5.56 tracer projectiles: I couldn't get any of them to ignite, even after trying various kinds of powder.

I still have some WWII .30 carbine ammo on stripper clips in bandoliers that are phosphorus coated. Bright orange!
