Who likes Model Tens

SmithNut,

I hope I'm not too forward but approximately how many nuts are you holding your basket?

Regards,

I just added a Model 10 with a 2 inch barrel that I found in a pawn shop last week. Paid 200 OTD. He wanted $250 but it only had double action, a feature I can easlily live with.

That goes along with my 4 inch that my roommate keeps in the bedroom for her safety...

I've always had a model 10 to go with my other guns since I started shooting.

Bob

Here's my 5" nickel 10. (c.1969)

Here's my newest...10-5 dates to 1966-67 all original, very pretty blue (hard to photograph, any suggestions? W/B, F-steps, background, lighting tips?), slick action...thanks for looking, KW

Look like nice pictures to me. WAY better than mine.

I overlooked this thread somehow. The Model 10 is my all time favorite handgun.

My very favorite from June of 1971.

The 2-inch Model 10 is the best kept secret of the snubbie world. This one from January 1996.

Before there was a Model 10 designation

Early 50s 2-inch M&P. Also have it's near twin in 4-inch.

Pitiful example from around 1904.

I think model 10s are the most perfectly balanced all around revolvers.Everyone I've shot has been very accurate. They are still the Duty Gun of my Dept.Aithough they will soon be replaced by Glock 22s.CDCR is very slow to change.LOL

BMCGilvray,

Those are some nice examples of the history of M&P's, I especially like the examples of the different types of grips. They are all original, aren't they?

Grips are original excepting the 2-inch gun from 1996. I ordered some of those "Dymondwood" grips that Smith & Wesson offered at the time. They even checkered them at my request. The color was suppose to be rosewood but is a little bright.

One of my Model 10's. I was at the shop today to make a payment on a Model 64 2inch (that will bring my Model 64 collection to 2", 3" and 4", with 2 being ex NYPD guns) and I was thinking I hadn't seen a Model 10 in a few months. Hopefully once I'm done paying off the 64 one will show up! Anyway, some pics of one of mine!

I got around to taking a better picture of the S&W 10-5 38 Special with 6 inch barrel that I got from my Dad.
