I notice most people only keep one or the other, Glock 26 and a M&P9c. I recently bought a Glock 26 and love it. I still love my 9c also. I used to use the flat mag plates in the 9c for conceal ability. I put the pinky extensions back on so I get a full size grip. Now it feels like a full size gun. I'm keeping both.

Welcome to the slippery slope of 'I'll keep it' .

I have a 40 gun safe that is absolutely packed. I don't even tell the wife anymore. :o

Guns provide a lifetime of joy, or even several lifetimes... I never sold a gun and don't plan to....

I've bought a few that I was in love with. I've let go a few that I either should or shouldn't have. Bottom line, you don't have to own only one gun. In fact, it makes sense to have more than one.

I recently told my wife I was going to sell a few guns from my collection that I really don't care for anymore to pay for a few that I want. She asked my why I wanted to do that (meaning keep them and buy the new ones). I really love her.

Now that's a great wife!!

I had to promise mine I would only buy 6 more guns in my life. That made her feel like there was an end.

The last 8 I bought have been for my kids, and the 9c I just got is for her. Even if she doesn't want it. I'll keep it in shape and carry it and shoot it for her when I don't have my .40 on me. :D

I have my M&P 40FS, a Glock 22 for duty and RIA 4" 1911 in .45. I'm adding a M&P 40 C and 45 mid size as well as a Glock 23. I think it's my responsibility to keep comparing these weapons so I can be an informed shooter!:D

I am really liking this thread! I think that as men we owe it to our wives and our families to make sure we are prepared for any and all defense scenarios. Do they always need to know all of our plans...no.

or you could be like me and get a glock 23 from a friend - only to have the wife say "the glock is yours - i want the M&P"

I just got a used M&P 9C and I still have my Glock 26. Keeping the Glock 26 around for carry on those really hot, humid summer days as I don't trust the finish on the M&P's as much as Glock tennifer for summertime carry.

I also have a Glock 19 as well as an M&P9 Full size. Neither of them are going anywhere. I love the M&P but i've always been really attached to my Glock 19.

Got a Glock 21sf and I have an M&P45 on order. The Glock 21sf isn't going anwhere.

You get the idea....

Rugernut, Have you 'thought through' purchasing a G 23 versus a 22? The 23 seems to me to be a bit more user friendly for multi purpose usage. Personally, it fits a niche nicely for me, between my G27 and my M&P 40c...

No,I've never considered a G23.Next time I go to the range i'll rent one and see how it performs.

I've got the 9c, but was considering a G26. If you get the chance, I'd like to see some pics of both pistols together. I think the G26 is slightly smaller (could be wrong) and might be an even better for concealed carry - based on size criteria only.

Based on size alone, I find the Glock 26 easier to conceal than the 9c. The 26 (and same size 27) is almost 'pocket friendly'--in fact I can pocket carry it in a semi stiff, suede pocket holster when wearing things like baggy shorts.

The Glock's design is more 'blocky', and squared off than the M&P's is.

If you gotta go Glock, the 23 really hits the sweet spot for me. I have the bigger and smaller Glocks, but next to the M&P 40c, the 23 is 'just right' in size, weight for me (OK--it's a little heavy) and certainly is durable and reliable.

It's the 'maxi moto' of the Glock line in terms of versatility, fire power and fireability, just as the 40C is that to me in the M&P line up. Anything bigger is too bulky for most purposes, anything smaller usually doesn't have sufficient accurate range.

Plus with Glock, I'd guess that millions of cops already have the 22 as a duty weapon and probably have or wish they had, the 23 for everyday carry. And a lot of same those cops are taking a fancy to the M&P line up lately.
