Recent New Jersey law requires concealed carry permit hilders to have $300,000 in concealed carry liability insurance come June 2023.

Anyone know which companies, if any, sell concealed carry liability insurance to private citizens.

Check with your homeowners policy agent?

I'm no insurance agent/expert/advisor so my opinion may be all wet, but my homeowners policy has always had $300,000 in LIABILITY insurance limit. This is NOT the dwelling amount, or medical, or personal effects, etc......just Liability.

This was true when I lived in New Jersey, Missouri, Ohio, New York, and my current Virginia. All of the above states were different major insurance companies and of course different agents, but policy terms were the same.

I have not ever asked specifically about "concealed carry insurance" but I suppose you should check with your specific agent, and at least ask: "What does my $300,000 liability policy cover...just the postman or visitor slipping on ice in my yard"?

If you find out that a separate policy is required please come back and let us know.

concealed carry insurance

I have been a member of CCW safe for a number of years and carry 1,000,000 dollars of insurance. In all of the researching I have done; I find them to be the best. They are recommended by attorney Jon H. Gutmacher of Florida Firearms law, use, & Ownership considered Florida's bible on gun laws for over 25 years They cover all the gaps and have the best support, and the best qualified personnel as mentioned by this attorney. They are the only one with an investigative team that hops right on a case. Their plans are the most extensive out there considering all coverage terms. There is no plan "limit" on what they will spend on your defense for criminal, civil, and administrative representation-plus they are the only one out there that cover everything, even investigators, experts, and depositions. They also have levels of coverage for any civil damages. Of course, you select the level of bond premium, and civil liability coverage they will pay when you join. There are number of various plans they have to cover different situations, and family members. CCW have attorneys and specialists you can talk to on an immediate basis, and throughout the case. I would take a look at their options.

I will second Jon H. Gutmacher of Florida Firearms, I have " worked with him" In regards to a high profile case while I was with an LGS in Orlando.

New Jersey 2023 is what happens when a new insurance scheme is introduced and people start buying into it as a need.

Many forms of insurance have ruined many things by opening the door to political restraints and regulation while costing the public big bucks.

No wonder insurance companies, lawyers, and politicians love it.

You may want to do a little “googling” to check. Not sure, but I think NJ may be one of the states where carriers have trouble writing policies.

Apparently, NJ is a no-go for CCW Safe.

About the CCW Safe Defender Plan

NOTE: The states of New York (NY), New Jersey (NJ) and Washington (WA) do not allow coverage for self-defense incidents. Law enforcement officials only in NY are eligible for coverage.

Of course — The one state where carry liability insurance is mandated by law (New Jersey) is one of the very few states where by law it cannot be obtained

Therefore, one cannot lawfully CCW. Guess this is another issue that may one day be heard by the SCOTUS.

As I read the recent law, the concealed carry liability insurance requirement does not kick in until June 2023
