Who sorts their 45 acp brass?

The only thing I sort out is the nickle stuff, as I want to load it separately. If i see an Amerc I'll toss it, as well as any NT brass. I usually find the NT when I run into too much resistance seating a primer.

Who sorts their 45 ACP brass

Sgt Preston here. I have close to 5000 45ACP cases. Many were given to me by oldtimers who never got around to reloading. I bought others at flea markets & picked a bunch up off the range. I do inspect each & every case after cleaning & before reloading under a lighted magnifyer for splits & over pressure indications. I also get rid of NT primers & AMERC cases. Cases with obvious damage are discarded. In my opinion, if I take my time & load them all very accurately, and if I make good shots they'll all go in the bullseye. For the record I typically only shoot from 10-25 yards & most of it is indoors. I load on a Dillon 550 & it produces consistently accuracy ammo, particularly if I pay attention to what I'm doing. I also load with Win 231 Powder & Win Primers, both of which also contibute to very accurate & consistent ammo. At the distances I shoot brass is brass. Now if I was at Camp Perry on the 50 yard line with the championship at stake....I'd want new top quality brass. Hope this is helpful. Sgt Preston USMC LLA

I sort ALL the brass I reload by headstamp.
Don't know why, really, since I develop my loads in reference to caliber& gun and not to particular makes of brass.
I just do.
