Ruger has a new 9mm carbine. It has iron sights with a ghost ring rear, it takes down like their 10/22, and has a magazine well that can be changed out so you can use either Ruger SR9 style mags or Glock mags. I know I want one!!!

Bought one two weeks ago. $549.00 plus tax. Ran 100 rounds of PMC through it using the SR9 mag. Worked great, no failures, and grouped decently thru the iron sights on a paper target that was pretty small to these 48 year old eyes. Mine was missing the Glock adapter, but Ruger got me one out that just came today. I expect no issues with the Glock magazines; I think Ruger has a winner, and it is really versatile.

I've been tempted several times over many years to add a 9mm carbine but I keep asking myself: why do I need it? I think its a fun gun particularly if you have access to parcels of real estate where you may fire it.

It certainly has a self defense application but the problem here is that most guys buying a new 9mm carbine already own something in 5.56mm and 12 gauge. Its better to have fewer guns that you can easily bring into action even in the dark.

As soon as I watched Ruger's video I wanted one. Looks like a fun plinker and something the wife and daughter would like. And it takes Glock mags!
I shoot IDPA every now and then and find it hard to make that first Sunday every month schedule. There's a pistol caliber carbine match every third Sunday now giving me another option. This PC9 looks to be a perfect cheap starter to get in on that. And it takes Glock mags!
Not the prettiest thing, but I can't wait to see what Hogue and Magpul come up with for stocks. And yes, it takes Glock mags. I keep repeating that because I think it was a stroke of genius on the part of Ruger. Somebody at that company is in tune with the market.
There's a gun show next month. My wallet is hoping there's NOT one there.

Definitely. I like the idea of shooting same caliber in multiple platforms. Unlimited funds I'd get a Wilson Combat AR9, limited funds and living in NY, the Ruger wins!

I definitely have an interest in a PCC. For self defense purposes, I think it would work better for me than either a rifle or shotgun in my situation. Not sure if I would get the Ruger, though. It is intriguing, but I'd been leaning more towards an AR-style PCC. Either way, it's not a high priority on my list of needs/wants, so I guess I'll have to wait and see when the time comes.

Just ordered one yesterday. Should have it by weeks end. $489.95. They also had a Kel-Tec Sub2000 that takes M&P mags for $349. Those were impossible to find. I’m sure the arrival of the new Ruger has already put a hurt on kel-tec rifles. I know that would not have lasted 5 minutes on the shelf without the new Ruger coming out. Store owner said he has 10 people in want list for the new Ruger.

I have a 9mm AR, and a Marlin Camp 9, so I'm probably not getting one. I don't own any Glocks (yet), and the Marlin uses 59xx mags, so it makes more sense for me.
I do like the sights and the takedown feature, though...

Don't know if I'll buy one yet, but I'm tempted. I've really enjoyed the Marlin Camp 9 I've had for years. Fun plinker out to a hundred yards or so, but I can't say it serves any other purpose. I tell people it's like a .22, but kicks up more dirt when I miss.

I think Ruger's Glock magazine option is a smart move. Who doesn't have Glock magazines around? They're cheap, and they work. A new 9MM carbine at about the price some are asking for used Marlins. Seems like a good deal to me. I think Ruger may very well have a winner with their new carbine.

the resale market on the original PC9 and PC40s is very good, no reason these won't do well.

Not me. I already have one of the original Police Carbines Ruger sold 20 years ago. It's a fun plinker, I hope the new ones are even better.

I just bought a KEL-TEK SUB-2000 9mm (M&P mags).
If that stays 'fun' and gets used, I might get the 9mm PCC.

If Ruger puts the PCC out in 45acp, than I'm running to my LGS for that!

Ruger's PC Carbine is on the cover of this month's American Rifleman also the Security-9 pistol. A lengthy article on both inside too, it just arrived today so haven't read it yet.
I have a Marlin Camp 9 I bought years ago it is nice to shoot, but I haven't put many rounds through it. The original buffer pad disintegrated a few years ago so I changed it out along with replacing the recoil spring with a heavier version as recommended works fine.
