I'd say you're better armed with the model 13.
I have one with 4" barrel.
Someday I'll have a 3". ( My,If I could only own one gun, gun!)

Not that I'd like to take one from the 9, but it would be a better option than one from the .357.

Figure that aimed fire beats the pants off supressive fire, so all things being equal you should only need 1 or 2 to get the job done.

Give me the wheel gun.

Now, if your son had a 1911, we'd have a tougher decision.

I would say you are better armed since you have 2 guns and he has none. As to which gun in a home invader situation, I'm in the "whichever gun is closest" crowd.
