Why wouldn't you just by a 29LH to cover both the 44 spl and mag round versus a 24LH? Getting both rounds to choose from. But what are the differences in the two revolvers? Thanks for the help. Want to get one or the other. Love the 44 spl round, but wouldn't mind carrying the mag round.
Confused???

I like the look of the tapered barrel on the 24. If you're only going to get one 44, then get the magnum (29).
Here is a 24:

And a pair of 29s:

Alot of people don't like the recoil of a 44 mag, same with people that buy a 38 instead of a 357.

the truth be told....there is no reason other than you CAN! If you were to get only one(1) gun, then, for sure, get the .44 Mag. In fact, I load the magnum brass with medium loads that are equal to or lighter than the .44 Spl. and they are very, VERY, accurate. I have found that the .44 Magnum is extraordinary with regard to accuracy...certainly bullseye accuracy...BUT, does not have the kind of fast shot recovery as a Bullseye .45. In slow fire, my tuned .44's will shoot as well as my 945. That considered, you still have the option to go hunting for most medium North American game, have a perfect cartridge for self protection (it is a stopper) and one that will not beat you to death. The full house loads can intimidate an inexperienced shooter, but lots of practice can eliminate that. Like anything else....I drive a Corvette Z06 as my everyday driver and it is a pleasure. When someone else is given the wheel, it is frightening. Personally, I live(and love) fast cars and big bullets.
I carried this for years......

but modern science and technology have lightened the load......

however, for a carry gun, magnums not needed.

I would still buy the MAGNUM for one gun.....

Terry-Is the 625-10 LH still available. I see posted on the LH website the revolver in the PC page, but do not see any available.

Maybe a mountain gun in 44 mag would be fine. However, I own 6 different .44 specials, and a 29-2 in the rare 5" barrel. I have a 24-3 in 4". The model 24 is a sweethart to pack. The pencil barrel and shorter clyinder does make a big difference over the 29-2, plus I can still load it hot enough to suite me! On the 24 I use sevice style stocks to make it even lighter.
