The father in law was making sport of my taste in music some years ago.

I mentioned a popular song from his era called 'Ragg Mopp'. No only was it nonsensical, it's wasn't even spelled correctly. We agreed no generation had a lock on 'real' music.

Still a fun song though...,

Now I feel like listening to: Ollie Oop and Purple People Eater. :D

I hope you have nightmares tonight because--ill be hearing Duke of Earl in my head the rest of today.:D Actually,I dont mind that because--it blocks out all the noise around me. :D

Sadly--yep. The only rap I actually like--is the very old school stuff. The funniest I heard was by a guy named: Ugly Kid Joe--and it came out about twenty three years ago.
ugly kid joe was not (c)rap, or even close to it. nor was it one guy. it was a real band. slightly more towards the less serious side though...

about the same time, there was green jello until they were sued and had to become green jelly...very nonsensical...and not a lot of talent though...

One reason is most of the new "artists" today don't know how to play a musical instrument. That use to be a prerequisite.

this is sadly true.
its the ones that actually DO know what to do with an instrument that are shoved into the underground.

Alter Bridge "Blackbird" comes to mind.
Might not like it, but you can't say they did it wrong;)

I never said Ugly Kid Joe was ****--I liked what I heard. However--im no fan of ninety-nine percent of rap music.
