Why did S&W discontinue the 940?

Us J-Frame collectors just have to have it if it's out there. I would not want to shoot a Jay in 357 all day either. The 940 is fine as a casual shooter, but a grip change is certainly in order.

The 940 is a ***** cat compared to some other Js. After about 100rds I start to feel it but the other gun pictured I can't do 100 cowboy loads with it. That is a brutal gun.

I know we can all have different perceptions about felt-recoil, but to me....it feels somewhere between a 38-Spcl +P and a 357-Mag.
