Why does the center of this Pistol rotate?

Oh its a revolver. Well Im here to learn how to shoot one of these wheel guns. Just bought a new 625JM. I plan on using it for IDPA. I know nothing about revolvers so I figured this would be the place to learn. If any of you guys know of any good threads from the past for me to read and get caught up Id appriciate the info. Thanks in advance.
