I know this person, use to be good friends just know each other now.He has a Ruger 10/22 that he shoots at a family members farm. I've went once but have put him off since. He is sick very sick so whenever he goes anywhere (shooting included)he takes massive amounts of Vicodin and gets stoned!!! He called me yesterday and he went shooting last week. He decided to use a bore laser to set his scope. Slammed a clip in started popping away with out hitting anything. Started walking up on the target looking through the scope still missing ran through 30 rounds before he thought maybe something was wrong with the gun. Maybe you've guessed it, shot the gun with the laser still in it then 29 more times. End of the barrel looks like a banana that was peeled (Elmer Fudd like)no idea where all the rounds went. So think I'm right for not wanting to shoot with this guy? Thanks Larry

I think you're taking a big risk hanging out with this guy at all. He has a serious problem, and it can slop over onto anyone around him, in many ways. One of my dearest friends became addicted to Vicodin after major surgery, and I finally had to tell him why I was leaving, and walk away. This was the first of several shocks to his system that finally convinced him he neede help to cure his problem. Today, he thanks me for helping him see the truth, and I am grateful that he did -- but, had he not, I would have stayed away as promised. Too many legal, physical, and emotional risks.

Don't be so judgemental! And BTW. I never heard anything about Elmer fudd being hooked on Vicatin. Though there was a rumor Chip and Dale were gay....not that there's anything wrong with that.

Not being judgemental,I take Vicodin also but I do not drive nor do I shoot when I take it. Even when I smoked pot, I never shot stoned. I'm one of these people that when I take Vicodin I'm wasted, been on it for 3 years and it happens all the time. So if I'm having a day where I can't handle they pain with either Tylenol or nothing I don't shoot. I just think it's scarey that even after being told he's dangerous he doesn't think so and continues to shoot. That is why I don't shoot with him. Thanks Larry

Humor aside, I'd hesitate to shoot - or go for a car ride with someone driving for that matter - with a person who's taking any medication that has warnings on the label about not operating machinery whilst using until I - and they - knew how it hit them. I had to take Codeine for a while owing to a bad tooth. Didn't do anything for me/to me. Others are hit differently by RX meds.

A good person NOT to shoot with. Or ride with. If he'll listen, you should suggest to him that he seek help. Before it gets any worse.
