Noticed a remark about some of us hoarding reloading supplies. Hmmm! I call it preparing for a rainy day. And it's sure coming down now. I bought my stuff sensing this shortage mess was going to happen some time back before the shortage hit and took it all home so it wouldn't get wet. Being prepared doesn't equate into hoarding as I see it.

We did another sit down and this time for shotshell. Each of us walked away with another flat of trap loads for this fall.
We also loaded up some non-toxic pheasant loads for where we hunt this fall. The land owners want NO plastic hulls or wads and no lead shot left behind on their lands. So we use fiber wads and ITX-10 for shot... we are adult enough to pick up our hulls...
We also drained a six of Innis & Gunn during our session. Pair of Mec Jr's across the table from each other. Took turns who deprimed/sized and primed the hulls. The other did the loading.

And some of you wonder why ammo and components can't be found.
I seriously doubt that his purchase of primers and powders four years ago have had much effect on the supplies available in the past ten months.

I have loaded ammo for 40 years.
I have a small supply of factory rounds, but the motherlode is handloaded ammo and a good supply of components.
Better ammo for fewer bucks.

I'm always amazed that some one who goes to the range more than once a month doesn't reload. (except .22)
I've never bought factory rifle ammo and haven't bought any factory pistol ammo for the last 7 yrs.
I bought reloading equipment the same week as my first non .22 firearm.

The two tons of lead I worked hard to acquire didn't hurt you or anyone else. And I refuse to apologize for having enough common sense to see the writing on the wall back when Obama was first elected and acting on it. I had discretionary funds available at the time, so I chose to buy the two things that would allow me to shoot as often as I like...powder and primers. A few MONTHS later they were hard to find. Not my fault.
But you are welcome to come shoot with me if you ever make it to North Georgia. My treat.
