I don't think anyone was "disrespecting" your model 57, we have simply been trying to relay the realities of the business.
First "strike" is that it's a 41 Magnum. In most parts of the US this is a caliber limited to those who reload. Just by your choice of caliber you have probably eliminated 85 or 90 % of the buyers.
Second "strike" is the barrel length. Barrels of 6 inches or longer simply ARE NOT AS POPULAR as 3 and 4 inch barrels. Heck, you yourself stated you wanted to sell it because that long barrel was too inconvenient to carry. You really shouldn't be offended that most revolver purchasers will feel the same way.
Third "strike" is that you tried to sell your gun at a Pawn Shop. If you watch any of the reality shows about pawn shops you'll come to realise that selling ANYTHING at a pawn shop will cost you real money. Yeah, you get fast cash and it's very convenient but that convenience comes at a very real cost.
When that pawn shop made that offer they probably made that offer based on the assumption that particular gun could take 2 to 3 years to re-sell. That means they have 350 dollars ties up for an extended period of time with no guarantee of a real return. IMO they made that offer because they thought highly of you as a customer. Most of the gun shops in my area would not have made any offer at all, they aren't in the business to let there money sit in a showcase for several years.
Now for a bit of good news. That is that you belong to a forum with lots of members who reload and who like the 41 Magnums a lot. IMO if you put your model up in the For Sale section with some good pictures to illustrate condition you should be able to sell it pretty quickly for something in the 650-800 dollar range.
