So I bought a brand new m&p 45fs, thinking I was making a good choice, (I was going for a glock at that gun show). But NEVER have I been so wrong.

First trip to the range, 10 ftf, out of only 50rnds, (I left due to anger and didn't shoot any more).

Second trip, the same results, fired 100 and got 16 ftf.

Third trip was the worst, 25 out of 50.

Used reloads, Remington, wwb, and tulammo .

I sent it in and have been waiting two weeks so far. (some bull considering I bought a new gun that is labeled "military& police" LOL!) NEVER AGAIN WILL I BUY A S&W

I guess I Just want to know, am I the only One who got screwed?
How long is it going to take until I get this piece back do I can sell it?

Hi
(ok i will bite) Did you check to see if the malfunctions were induced by the reloads? or do you know? Could it be shooter induced? was it a used weapon? any chance the recoil spring assembly is the problem. This is not a typical situation with a S&W M&P regardless of the caliber or model. I have 5 M&Ps and all function flawlessly. Other than a fewe SHOOTER/AMMO induced malfunctions. If you do send it back to S&W they WILL make it right and if they cant then I bet they will send you a new weapon.
Thanks

You are on the wrong forum for winning and sympathy. I have an M&P.22....love it. Hate to hear you are discouraged. Maybe S&W will make it right.

First, every single gun manufacturer puts out a lemon (yes Glock). So it is possible that is what you got. The good news is that S&W has good CS and will fix it or get you a new gun.

Having your gun for 2 weeks really isn't that long (FYI).

Malfunctions on all ammo except the Tula,

And I wasn't limp wristing, I'm not a novice shooter.
Everything looked fine, it just would not feed the rounds,

Mp22,
Would you not be whining if your .22 was worthless?
I just am looking for answers to the questions I asked

Fair warning. Don't sell the M&P when you get it back. Glock is great to, but I'm guessing your thought process is get the M&P back and trade it in for a Glock. Well your gonna loss value, and all you be doing is trading in a fantastic weapon for another fantastic weapon. Smith & Wesson will make it right, and you'll have a great weapon.

Hi

Sorry to hear about the problems.

What cleaning/oiling did you do with the new pistol before firing it?

I had an M&P 22 which was just oily and gloppy in the box and needed TLC before a trip to the range.

Why is it once a week some glock fanboy has to come here and whine about the M&P he just bought?

Something doesn't ring true on this to me......

I have 4 M&P's that have run flawlessly from day one. The FS .40 had over 16,000 rounds before the striker assy. wore out. I called S&W on Tuesday and had a new assy on Thursday. Gun runs fine again!!

NEVER AGAIN WILL I BUY A S&W

Thank God!!

There are too many people fighting to get M&P's now! I can't get a Shield. Bud's is always out of M&P40c's. The 642's are hard to find. Good luck getting a 3913 or 4513.

I wish more people thought like you so I could easily scoop up a deal every now and then.

Thank you!

hahahahaha.. I can point you toward a Shield if you want one.. Ron

I have M&P 9 and 40. Both have been flawless from shot one and through thousands of rounds. Also have a 9c that had a couple of hiccups in the first 100 rounds, but has been flawless since then.

I've also owned a Glock, FNP and Kahr. Replaced all three with M&Ps. Only the Glock matched the M&Ps for reliability and durability. The M&P is far more ergonomic, softer shooting and, in my hands, more accurate that the Glock or the others.

The best thing about the M&P ergonomics for me is that I can look at my target, draw the M&P, bring it to eye level and the sights are aligned with no effort or adjustment. I'm at the point now with the M&Ps thay inside of 10 yards I can make acceptable hits without looking at the sights.

I've had some trouble with my
magazines feeding the bullets in,
but thats because they're brand new.
I'm sorry you are having issues I've had mine
for 2 weeks and couldn't be happier. I looked
at a Glock as well, but couldn't handle the ergos
and mag release/thickness. Do what works for you
if you like Glock get glocks I'm sure someone will be
more then happy to trade you one for your M&P after
it's fixed.

Sell it, buy a Glock, and move on.

We'll miss you but will try to get by.;)

Regards.

Bob

When you get your M&P back, will you give it a fair trial? And if you do, and then if you like it, are you going to change your user name? :p

Your experience is very atypical of M&P owners...but it can and does happen, and it can happen to every brand of pistol made. You mentioned Glock...there are plenty of people on the Glock forums moaning about the problems with the Gen IV models, and even some of the later Gen III models. It happens...and so far, it seems to be fairly isolated with the M&Ps, not affecting a large portion of a new generation, like Glock.

I hope you do get it back, it runs well, and you do like it...because M&Ps are in general very good pistols, and you should have one that lives up to the standard that others enjoy and depend on.
