Wishing to get some info on my older revolvers

Hi All I am putting together a firearm bio on my collection
as one day I hope to pass them down to my Son and Daughter
I have several older Autoloader S&W's the other board helped me out with and if you will I will start with 2 rimfires I am seeking appx
time of Mfg and any folklore or unique ness you guys might offer

Mod. 34-1 = 1981
Mod. 27-2 = 1979-80

These are from the SCSW 4th edition. Hope this is a little help.

I was thinking that as well Here is my other 48 8 3/8

I really enjoy shooting the 48 but think I might retire it and keep
it the way it is as it's in excellent condition , I have a 48-4 with the 8 3/8 ths that the barrel and cylinder have a purpleish hue to them perhaps it might have been re blued at one time but the corners are sharp and the numbers/lettering have not been
buffed off I really looked it over and cannot see why it would have been I am posting up a couple pictures in natural light
well anyway I will prob make this one my shooter with ammo priced the way it is 22 mag is still available and not to bad on price. Would love you guys take on the finish of this one appx year of mfg

If it's as it appears, with a blued hammer and trigger, then it's a pretty sure bet the entire gun has been reblued. Not uncommon that the barrel and cylinder took the bluing a bit differently than the frame. Plus, the sideplate doesn't look well-fit to the frame any longer. A pretty careful refinish, but that's what it looks like to me.

I'd think 1981 based on the serial. Nice gun really. I've been on the hunt for a pinned long barrel 48 in nice shape for some time. I'm not the only one as numerous Gunbroker auctions can attest.

It's real tight and has a lovely trigger and to be honest I doubt I ever shot it, back in the day the guns were moving quickly and most just got hung up on display , I asked my wife for her chief's special I gave her when she got her carry permit and got the Why!
reply as if memory serves it's an old flat latch in very good shape
maybe I can give her a nice lightweight hammerless one with a key in trade will try and fetch it as I would like to see how old it is .

Very nice basic collection from 60's-80's time period. All look original except for the long tube 48 has been refinished (still a fine shooter I am sure though).You just need a model 14 and a model 17 of any dash variation to complete your set. So much fun going out and shooting the different calibers from these fine revolvers. I always start with 22lr myself and work my way up the chain ending with the big booming 357 and 44 mag. Thanks for showing us your fine revolvers. Enjoy

Thanks so much I gave my brother a 6 inch model 14 some years ago and he just passed earlier this year I am trying to purchase it from his Widow it would mean alot to have that in my collection as far as the 17 I have been stopping in the LGS's
with a new vigor for the classic wheelguns

The .32-20 was called the 32-20 Hand Ejector. They were produced from 1899 until c. 1929. Yours is most likely from 1923. It could have shipped later than that but most of them in that serial range that we have ship dates on left the factory that year. It has been reblued and the stocks on it are from the 1930s.

The Model 36 Chiefs Special is from about 1959 or 1960.

I can't help with the Centennial. I know almost nothing about them. But I can tell you the stocks are original, since the stocks for this model are unique.

And by the way, in each case the number on the butt is the serial number. The other number doesn't mean much at this point.
