I have a Dan Wesson 44 mag. I have the extra barrels and shrouds; I was thinking of trying to touch up a few minor scratches on one of the shrouds. Which scotch Brite pad . Thanks in advance.. I will post some pictures later as I am not home.

Gray works well and go with the grain only.

There are two grays, light and dark. The light gray is much finer.
So which one gives a matte finish, the light grey or the dark gey?
I think one is 150 grit and one is 800 grit. Big difference.

When retouching, my rule of thumb is to go with finer grade and lighter strokes. Patience goes a long way here!
