I have (2) K frame 6" Douglas barrels in the white that I would like to get hot blued. Not looking for show quality (nothing special) ...just want them blued for protection.

If I could locate a small amount of hot bluing salts I have various small pans and could do it myself.

Blueing is not hard. Use the wayback machine to look at blindhogg's website that had a great recipe that yielded great results for me.

For a couple of barrels, your tank won't be too big, and a turkey fryer will work fine.
First complete gun I re-blued came out really nice, using fertilizer, Lye and r-o water. Its a little spooky as its a cauldron of boiling death, so wear a pvc suit, do it all outside and be prepared for a spill.

Thanks

I did a lot of bluing years ago.

As an update I did locate some bluing salts.......so I'm good to go.
