Went to bed last night at about 1:30 AM, got up about 7:30 this morning. Came downstairs and found 13 green tipped wooden matches in about a 4" area in the middle of my living room on a braided rug. Wife and I and two cats are the only two inhabitants of the house and as far as either of us know there are no wooden matches anywhere in the house! My first thought was the cats, but no teeth marks and I doubt that they would put 13 of them in a small area like that. Second thought was sleepwalking, but as I stated, as far as we know there are no wooden matches in the house. Just a weird incident that I wonder if I will eventually figure out.

My new kittens think everything is a toy now. From my leather jacket, to my insulant dispenser pen, to my insulant bottle. If they can move it, it's fair game. I have stuff I can no longer find.

My kittens think my feral cats tails are toys too. They get swated but still comeback for more. It's looks like a WWF brawl sometimes when there fighting over it. One kitten is orange. Orange cats are crazy. His black and white brother isn't too far behind too.

Hey now, Bill, we have two orange cats, Barney and Clyde. They ain't crazy, they're cute!

Barney is the Head Cat. A position of extreme importance in our household.

Maybe your cats are taking up smoking. Makes sense, they don't have thumbs, so they couldn't use a lighter.:D

That is weird! I was leaning to agree with others about the cats but you stated twice that "and as far as either of us know there are no wooden matches anywhere in the house!". And, if the matches were in the house somewhere but the two of you had no idea they were, how would two cats find them? Set up a motion camera if things continue to try and catch the culprit! Please keep us informed as I find this story intriguing!

There was a time we had Fred and George named from Harry potter. Fred was the dominant outdoor hunter type, while George was lazy and in someone's lap all the time.

I was leaning towards a ghost, but there's a lot of people that refuse to believe in spirits not currently residing in heaven or hell.

I would be very careful to be sure no one got into your house!

I wouldn't believe that the cats found these matches and some how got all 13 in the same spot. They would have scattered them through out as they played with them - not drop them all nicely in one area.

The number 13 is bad. I'd change the locks. No need to advise you to load your guns - I'm sure they already are.

If you have to shoot - always shoot .44 Magnum. If you miss them , you'll blind them with the muzzle flash.

I'm pretty confident that no one entered the house. At night all doors are locked and deadbolted and the wife and I have the only keys. We live in a very rural area, and our house sits back in the woods well off the beaten path.
'tis a mystery!

Well, I note you went to bed about 1:30 AM.... Sometimes stuff that happens really, really late in the evening isn't always crystal clear in the morning....:);)

That's right. When I woke up this morning I had a different blanket than when I went to bed.
