Hey I am looking at a model 65 and it has original factory Uncle Mick's Rubber grips, I am a fan of the Wood Diamond grips and would buy a pair, But I am not sure if the gun is suppose to have square butt or round but grips.

Any thoughts

If it's a 4" revolver, it will be a square butt; if 3", it will be a round butt.

The Uncle Mike's rubber grips are likely round butt grips.

Give Ahrends some thought. They're really nice, and I have them on my Model 65-5.

Is there a name For the factory diamond wood grips. because I am asking because I would like to keep it kind of original

Greg

Revolver, I replaced the rubbers on my 65-3, 3" with Eagle round butt targets. Picked them up on ebay for $30, very nice wood. I am looking for combats also for this. Be patient, and you will find what you are looking for. The diamond grips are too early for your gun, but do look neat! Good luck on your search. Bob

The 65-5 may be a round butt, if it has Uncle Mikes grips.........just pop them off and take a look.

If you don't mind the look of "dymondwood" , Altamont is the new OEM wood grip maker and on the S&W website, you can buy the new version of the SB and RB "magnas" which will fit the gun.

I've had exceptional luck with these guys - www.gungripsupply.com - a couple of my S&W's are sporting them.

The sales rep told me they bought a lot of the original S&W grip designs when S&W originally stopped producing them. I don't know if it's true or not, but they are definitely top-shelf quality.

Mine came with the smooth PC Magnas.
