Thanks guys, we wondered as we were told it was with an N frame gun , obviously have seen the older 'presentation ' cases which are lighter, thinner construction...thank you

Larry, yes, swapped it off for a 9mm Ruger and got two more 22 semi autos, thank you.... Yes medina was busy and sadly the bunch is the same weekend as the next Medina show..........darn it........;(

Would anyone happen to have the specs for building a wood case for a 8 3/8 S&W revolver? Would make a great project for myself.

wooden cases

Doc, sorry I do not even have one here to be able to measure up for you the mahogany cases are pretty standrd, is the inserts that is the issue and these day we just use pieces of foam and wrap "royal blue" clothe material from any of the fabric stores.....good luck

They are for sale occasionally on various websites.

A friend of mine built his own using his own measurements so its truly a one of kind custom. Pictured is the standard S&W Case.

Buy an empty silverware case at any garage sale. The cost for sandpaper, stain, velvet and varnish will be much less than the wood to build it from scratch. It will fit any S&W.

The 8 3/8" s&w case is 7 7/8 x 16 x 3" They are fun projects except for installing the felt. Here are a few of mine.
