Words Of Wisdom

My Grandfather said, in response to one of my young life's disappoinments: Well, Johnny, sometimes you get the bear, sometimes the bear gets you, and sometimes, you just end up with a bare behind.

My Dad told me that I didn't have to make all of life's mistakes on my own, it was OK to learn from other peoples.

This reminds of me when I was appointed to a commission of the town where I now reside. I had moved here from a considerably larger city, so to help establish what my outlook would be, right during a meeting I said, "I'm not here to tell you how we did things in the big city of __________, I'm here to keep us from making the same mistakes that were done in the big city of ______________."

Good judgment is usually learned from bad judgement.

Its been said that wisdom comes with age.
In my experience I've found that age often comes alone.
Good ones!
I heard a slightly different version of the first one:
Good judgment comes from experience.
Experience comes from bad judgment.

Dad to me at fifteen...after a mess-up....

So you're grown-up enough to float your own boat... HuH?

OK Captain; always remember, you're responsible for everyone aboard!
