Whether a film made from a classic film, or a film based on a television series, there are a lot to choose from. My choices are:

Lost In Space--stinkeroo.
The Avengers--British T.V. show made into horrible film
War of the Worlds--Gene Barry Vs. Tom Cruise...not much to say
Tim Burton's Planet of the Apes--put down that camera, you darned, stinking director...
Tim Burton's The Time Machine.....
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory...Gene Wilder, hilarious. As for Johnny Depp...Michael Jackson's twin brother?

Red Dawn.
And of course - Stage Coach, that's sacred ground to us Western Fans.
Billy the non-Lefted Kid. Enough already!
I do like the different points of views of Tombstone, OK Corral.
I don't always actually like the movies that much, but I like the different viewpoints.

I posted on another forum that in the movie, Keanu Reeves looked like he was on Valium. Someone replied, "In that movie, Keanu Reeves IS Valium."

I've only seen a few moments of it here and there. That's enough to deter me from watching the whole thing.

On the other hand, I'll watch the original straight through, virtually every time it's shown on TCM at a decent hour.

While it can't hold a candle to the original, I was astonished when I didn't hate Tom Cruise in it.

I didn't hate him in it....I thought that Gene Barry as a scientist who was working to save the planet from extinction was more believable in the premise of the story. Tom Cruise's character was not instrumental in defeating the Martians.

The cast was top-notch in that film. Patricia Neal was under-rated as an actress. Check out the film "A Face in the Crowd". Andy Griffith deserved the oscar for his portrayal of Lonesome Rhodes. You will never think of him as Andy Taylor from Mayberry after that. And that was filmed in 1957. Nothing changes.

Bundle of Joy. Ginger Rogers and David Niven were great in Bachelor Mother, but for the Debbie Reynolds remake she wanted her husband, Eddie Fisher, as her co-star. And since Eddie was a singer, not an actor, they made it a musical. Pee Yuu.

Should mention Star Trek 5....but not in mixed company. Shatner directed, actors roles neglected. P--u.
