Would you shoot this coyote?

The last couple nights I had a group of coyotes barking and howling just outside my bedroom window, sounded like a female with pups.
Sunday about 7 pm I took a walk up behind my house to sit down with my rifle until dark.
Didn't get to far and saw one just as he saw me, gone in a flash. The next morning our cat got real nervous, I looked out the window, and had one walking down my driveway maybe 20-25 lbs definately a young one. The deer lover in me said kill it, but his size and lack of smarts turned me off.
What would you have done?

I'd of nailed him. Little coyotes grow up to be big coyotes.

Shoot it. If you love your cat. The got a 17lb Tomcat of my neighbor's and they will get your cat too if you continue to let them come around unmolested.

They adapt to humans and civilization very readily.
