Wow Chick-fil-A must be doing something right!

I have tried to go to Chick-Fil-A approximately 6 times, only being able to get in within a reasonable amount of time 3 times. I am NOT waiting an hour for fast food!

I thought the food was descent (an upgrade from McDonalds, BK, Wendy's, etc.) but nothing so special that it is worth a long wait. I do value their policy's, ethic's and personnel and might stop in again in the future, but if there is a substantial line - I am outta there.

I too shake my head in disbelief when passing a Chick-Fil-A and seeing a super long line of cars wrapping around the parking lot. I think that it is partially the food quality and partially the fact that Chick-Fil-A is more aligned with good old fashion morals. Either way..... good for them!

I think they purposely buy the smallest postage stamp pieces of real estate they can find in the most hard to get to places as a marketing ploy so their drive through lanes are jammed all the time and to save a few bucks. Too bad they won’t spring for bigger buildings so their outside order takers wouldn’t have to stand outside when it’s -5 degrees or *100 degrees, which are normal temperature ranges here in SW Missouri.

Or they are catering to our lazy society. I’m constantly amazed at how many people prefer to idle in a drive through line rather than park and go inside a fast food joint or coffee shop.
I don’t do drive through. I often park, go in and get my food and come out and the line has only moved a couple of cars.

Must be because there's a lack of popeyes nearby. The true chicken sandwich king!

Unfortunately no Chick fill a around here, or Popeyes (love their spicy chicken and red beans). Culvers is 25 miles away and they have excellent /friendly service that is obviously trained to be exceptionally helpful to seniors. And very good butter burgers and fries.

The only official fast food in town is Mcdonalds, and will admit to eating their occasionally when the 2 for 6 special is running.

You can’t eat while driving if you actually sit down inside the restaurant.

From my ample amount of driving miles the eater is a safer driver than the celler user! Making a statement here, not condoning it!

Hel,l I'm not ever sure that driving and eating is against the law in this state. Celling while moving most definitely is!

The one that always makes me scratch my head is Scooter's. I drive by there in the morning and see the long line of cars waiting to go through their drive up and just don't get it.

Going to work one morning, years ago, I see a woman flossing her teeth with both hands while going 60. She was using her elbows to steer.

Great example for the teen passenger.

I like Chick Filet a lot! before I retired from law enforcement they always looked out for us. 1/2 price when on duty. Often times when there were hurricanes or we were working some kind of disaster they'd sent food free of charge and didn't ask for publicity about it. Never had Waffle House do that or any other fast food place. I appreciate the business values, too!

Ironically just that day, I had been by a Chick-Fil-A at lunch time. As Farmer states they had a two lane drive-thru with probably 50 cars in each lane. There was a literal army of clean-cut, smiling young people out getting orders and handling the customers at a level of efficiency of a NASCAR pit crew.

tlawer makes a good point regarding one of the key elements making Chick Fil A a success.
Clean, pleasant and well mannered personnel.

The biggest difference is the staff is friendly. Staff at other fast food joints can barely say thank you.

My Pleasure!

The only problem I have with Chick-fil-A and their Christian values is that they have a contract with the NYS Thruway and they are one of the restaurants in the rest stops (and the only one in the smaller rest stops.) It seems to me you HAVE to be open on Sunday if you are serving in that capacity, but they're not. So if you happen to be traveling on Sunday, you may end up with a bag of peanuts from the gas station mart for lunch!

Just saying, in the stand alone restaurants it's totally fine to be closed Sunday.

Early people? Do you mean us OLD people - the ones who eat dinner at 4pm or 5pm to ge the senior discount? ;)

That doesn't bother me at all. It's the people who think that everyone eats breakfast before 0500 and therefore lunch is at 1030, 1100 at the latest. If I'm up at 0500 it's because my metabolism is playing silly buggers.

Chik-Filet has the best diet lemonade and the winter their Tortilla soup is pretty good for the price. Grilled offerings are fairly deccent, non-grilled items are more fattening than McDonald's cheeseburgers.
