Not long ago I posted about picking up a 3953 locally. I had carried one in the past quite a bit, but that gun went down the road due to finances years ago. Since then I really hadn't seen one. Not long after that I got a message from forum member Muzzleblast. He told me he noticed my post and had a 3953 himself. He also said he made holsters and was wondering if I would be interested in looking at one he made. Now you never know how something like that might go, but his terms were he would send me the holster, and if I liked it and decided to keep it, then I should donate $30 to the forum. That's right. Payment for the holster if I liked it would be a donation to this forum.
He sent me a pic of the unfinished holster and I could tell right away he was no jackleg holster maker. I said OK. Well, today the holster came. I have carried a gun every day for the past 30 or so years. I usually carried them in Sparks or Kramer holsters although as a starving college student in the beginning I carried in an Uncle Mikes. Those days are long gone though and I am a holster snob and can tell you the difference in a good holster and a great holster are little details. Angles, the cant, how tight the gun clings to your body, tight belt slots, a lot of little things that add up into a holster that never moves and makes it so you can hardly tell you are carrying a gun.
This holster has all that attention to detail. It shows a lot of real craftsmanship. It is also lightweight. The stitching, finish, the finish on the edges, the fit, the ride, everything about this holster is just first rate. Plus it is really beautiful.
If you ever have a chance to get a holster from Muzzleblast I would jump at the opportunity. So without further adieu here is the holster. As you can see it is appropriate for carry on Sunday and special occasions. And what a guy Muzzleblast is to create such a fine piece of equipment and then only ask for a donation to the board in return! Thanks again Gordon!
