today at an estate auction and have a couple of questions. It is blued and has the internal hammer. The serial number is
10xxx.
1) Can anyone tell me approximately when it was made?
2) The trigger return does not return. Is it one spring that makes the trigger return and cock the hammer?
3) Where can I find these parts?
4) If I cannot find them can anyone post a picture of the inernal schematic so I can make the parts?
5) Is there a place to find a copy of the instruction manual?
Thanks in advance.

Do you possibly mean a .32 Safety Hammerless? Does it look similar to this?

This is a 3rd model, and one with a S/N of 10xxx would be a 1st model, mfg. between 1888 and 1902.

What barrel length do you have, it was available 2", 3", 3 1/2", and 6". The 2" and 6" are somewhat more rare.

If the trigger return does not work it could possibly just be 100+ years of accumulated dried up lubricant and dirt gumming up the works. A good book
Antique Firearm Assembly and Disassembly by David Chicoine. It is a "Gun Digest" book and available from Coin, Paper Money, Knife, Old Car, Hunting, Antiques & Record Books - KrauseBooks.com.

Yes, that is the same gun. The one I have has a 3" barrel. I took off the left side grip and the panel and there is definately a spring missing. I can manually pull the internal hammer back so it will engage and drop while pulling the trigger. Any idea what spring or springs I need to get it back into working order? Thanks again.

You could check out "numrich" firearms arts. They've got an exploded view of the safety hammerless, showing the trigger spring as part # 43. Hope this helps, TACC1
