Here's something not seen too often on the S&W Forum Classified section:
Springfield 1868 Trapdoor. Beautiful patina and solid wood. All metal parts function perfectly; stampings are crisp; screw heads are tight; clean bore. Stock is free from cracks and damage, bearing only wear commensurate with age. Overall, a very nice clean example of a Civil War era Springfield Trapdoor. Recently evaluated by the leading Civil War firearms dealer in Gettysburg, PA and assigned a valuation of $1,200-$1,500. Excellent cost effective addition to one's collection. $1150 shipped.
Additional information can be found here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Springfield_Model_1868
Model 1868
*** Trades considered of equivalent value: Pre-lock N-frames in .44 Mag/Special or .45 ACP; 4" or less. The only IL I would be interested in are the 325TR, 329PD, 327PC, or possibly one of the discontinued Nightguards.
Offered elsewhere. All Forum rules apply.
