X frame grip for 629

I don't care for the rubber grip on my new 629 and I'm looking to replace them. Will the X frame grip fit?

Great, thank you. The S&W web site doesn't list it for the N frame.

Just order the x frame. It fits. The x frame is same as k frame grip but the rubber mono grip fits n frame well. They cushion a lot of recoil. Assuming you have round butt.

JMHO,the best rubber grips made. Have them on my 929,625,627,327,629,69 and of course my 500.

So, the X frame Hogue grips will not fit a square butt N frame?

Here are pictures of X frame (500) grips on a round butt 629.

They won't fit square butt guns.... They also fit current K and L frame round butt revolvers. They are available only from S&W in black, yellow or orange...

I have seen yellow and/or orange grips on so called, "survival guns" that are part of a bear protection kit. I guess they make it easier to find your handgun if you drop it while being attacked by a grizzly.

I have one of the orange colored grips that a friend gave me. They were on one of the 500 snubs in a bear defense/survival kit. They look rather strange in that colour but on a revolver used in the woods, perhaps they might help if it was dropped in leaf litter...I don't care about the colour since they cost me nothing and they do a great job in making it much more comfortable to shoot heavy loads in my 629...Now, if someone would give me 500 revolver to go with it, I'd be very pleased!

Yes. As stated above these were part of the X-frame survival kit guns. They were available as an accessory from S&W, but no more. Now they are only available in black and only from S&W (licensing agreement with Hogue). The last colored grip I saw on eBay brought $157. I have the yellow grips on my 625-8PC, my Brazil 586-4 and my 646.
